History



 

Communion is the central act of our Worship Service and Jesus invites all to the Table, that has been given by the Creator and blessed by Holy Spirit

Each Sunday, we worship in our historic Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. 

Our order of Worship is

Prelude-Our organist plays a song that sets the stage for a time of worship

Announcements-We let you know about exciting opportunities for ministry, study and fellowship

Call to Worship-A reading printed in the bulletin that have words to make you think and to inspire you

Invocation-A short prayer that focuses us on God

Lord's Prayer-The prayer Jesus taught his disciples

Hymn of Praise- A song we sing to praise our God

Concerns-We lift up the names of those who are sick, hurting in our village and world that we will pray for during worship and throughout the week

Praises-We remember our many blessings

Pastoral Prayer-A time of prayer

Scripture-We read our Scripture from the Hebrew Bible or the New Testament-We have the New Revised Standard Version Bibles in our Pew donated by Jack and Steelgray Shanklin.

Sermon-An inspiring message

Hymn of Communion-a song to prepare us for communion

Holy Communion-We partake of small pieces of bread and small cup of juice every week that connects us to God, each other and the universal church

Offering- A collection of money to be used for the ministries of the church in our village and beyond

Doxology-A song of praise

Prayer-a prayer to dedicate our offerings

Hymn of Commitment-A song in which we remember our commitment to God

Benediction-Our Parting Hymn

After worship, we have a time of fellowship which can be a cup of coffee or a lunch depending on the Sunday

Our organist is  Sherian Ratcliffe. We also have various guest piano players and musicians.
